FREE Printable Christmas Wish List
We listen to Christmas music in August. We are over the heat, waterlogged from the pool, and yearn for the burn ban to lift so it is cool enough for a fire in the fire pit (because how else are you supposed to make s’mores?!).
Also, our (upstairs) Christmas tree goes up on November 1st. I do all I can to resist putting up all of Christmas till after Thanksgiving but usually fail and our annual Thanksgiving feast picture has a Christmas tree in it.
With my birthday being so close to Christmas, my Christmas wish list as a kid was also used for my birthday. It’s still something my Mom asks for.
The day the first toy catalog arrives is pretty exciting. First, I hide it. Then I print out our wish lists and check the calendar to see when we can fit in a couple of hours of making cookies. By the time we get around to this little project, it’s usually November but the catalogs come earlier each year.
Let’s get practical for a second… by no means are you required to go ridiculously above and beyond. I had a friend reflect some of that truth to me earlier this year (that’s a story for another time) and I was so grateful. This little moment with your kids can be as simple as it is sweet. Here’s how!
Make a Christmas Wish List a Fun Moment:
Print the free Christmas Wish List printable here.
Put on some Christmas music.
Grab your Christmas toy catalogs (if needed! My oldest didn’t use them this year.)
Have a snack! This is where you can make it easy or be a little extra. See the list of ideas below.
Snack Ideas
Breakfast of pancakes or cinnamon rolls. You can dye the batter or frosting green and/or red or add some Christmas sprinkles if you have them.
Cookies: Buy them or make them. Here’s a super yummy chocolate chip recipe.
Hot chocolate. Or! If it’s warm out still, have chocolate milk with a scoop of ice cream in it.
Candy canes or your family’s favorite Christmas candy you can pick up at the grocery store on your way home.
Now, you wanna know what makes it special for me? Besides seeing the kids get excited of course! It’s talking about Christmas past. Reliving the sweet moments with my favorite people. This year my oldest asked to see his old wish lists. You better believe I kept those treasures.
Print the Christmas Wish List and enjoy making some sweet memories!
